He was instrumental in the creation of the Detective Information Network, an innovative investigative agency that was among the earliest to utilize the Internet for investigative purposes, and served as its first director of research. Prior to founding The Georgetown Group, he worked for several of the country's most prominent investigative firms.

He has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, Security Director News, Security Management, Corporate Security, Corporate Counsel, The White Paper, and Legal Times. He has made repeated presentations to the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), the world's largest international educational organization for security professionals, and to the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Charles Pinck has worked as a staff member for U.S. Senate and presidential campaigns. He began his investigative career working for the Research Group, a political consulting company that was widely regarded as the nation's premier opposition research firm.

He serves as president of the Office of Strategic Services Society.
