Dave Hawkins is a Senior Cyber Crime Investigator with expertise in Insider Threat, Network Intrusion Investigations and Digital Forensics. Mr. Hawkins has designed automated networks for forensic analysis, developed procedures and processes for large data set acquisitions and has investigated one of the largest Internet launched bank heists of the decade.
In 2012, Mr. Hawkins led a team providing intrusion forensic training to a multinational student body of forensic experts from 12 nations across Europe. The course was designed, developed and facilitated by Mr. Hawkins in coordination with the US European Command during exercise Combined Endeavor, the world’s largest exercise focused on interoperability of information systems and communications capability.
Mr. Hawkins led a team of forensic investigators at the forefront of the insider threat mission space. His leadership and technical capability resulted in receiving the 2011 and 2012 awards for Counterintelligence Investigations across all of DoD.
In 2001, Mr. Hawkins joined the U.S. Air Force to be a communications systems programming specialist. While in technical training he was identified and selected for special duty assignment as a computer forensic examiner for the world’s largest accredited computer forensic laboratory. After leaving the Air Force, Mr. Hawkins continued his military career as a reservist. This decision culminated in becoming one of the Air Force’s first Cyberspace Operations specialists. In his civilian life he has led teams in incident response, digital forensics and insider threat investigations for DoD, prestigious law firms, and the premier defense contractors in the world.
