Breach told the story about the critical role O’Neill played in Hanssen’s capture. This bridge was the site where Hanssen made his final drop to the Russians moments before he was arrested by the FBI and subsequently convicted of espionage.
This building on Navy Hill in Washington, DC, known as the East Building, served as the headquarters for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS), the World War II predecessor the CIA and US Special Operations Command. OSS founder General William Donovan occupied the office in the lower right-hand corner, room number 109, which he designated as his personal code number for message traffic. Following World War II, the East building served as the first CIA headquarters.
